As part of Self-Published Fantasy Month 2021, we at the Uncharted Library are hosting a series of spotlights to showcase the incredible talent of self-published fantasy authors! We’re celebrating another book birthday today with the new release of The Secret of Magik and Blood by Laura E. Thompson, a New Adult witchy fantasy just time for Halloween!

About the Author

Laura Thompson has been writing short stories since the young age of seven and has been an avid reader for longer than that. “Though I am in my thirties I am lucky to still have the active imagination that I had as a child, only now I express it in my writing.”

Her first full length novel was written and completed at the age of 16 while taking a creative writing class. Laura first started writing the Elven Quest Series in 2007, “I had not written for pleasure in a long time and one day the characters from The Burden of Destiny entered my mind and wouldn’t leave. I had no choice but to sit down and write their story. I’m so excited to share them with the world.”

Laura is also busy continually writing. She has written and published a YA series, Freak or Unique under the penname L.E. LaBarge. She has four more Elven Quest books in the works.

Laura is releasing the first book in a new adult fantasy series, The Secret of Magik and Blood: Witches of Tradbeldam on October 1st.

Laura holds her Masters in Higher Education Counseling, has a BA in Sociology. Laura currently resides in South Carolina with her Family.
