As a lifelong gamer, E3 is always one of my favourite times of the year and it has become a tradition of mine to watch the shows live and get hyped over the announcements. It’s been great to see growing support for indie game developers by the big gaming studios and more shows dedicated to indie publishers and games; Devolver Digital’s yearly stream is always a joy. After watching this year’s E3, I’ll say that the real winner of E3 were indie game devs for their amazing range of creative and innovate games, but of course, I’m slightly biased! I honestly couldn’t add these games to my Steam wishlist quick enough.
So to celebrate some of the indie game talent on display for 2021’s E3, here’s ten of my favourite upcoming indie games you need to watch out for:
Cloud Jumper
Cloud Jumper is a chill game about exploring the Sky. Take the wheel of a tiny flying tug boat and launch yourself through a beautiful pixel world, filled with floating islands, colourful characters and ancient secrets.

Reaping souls of the dead and punching a clock might get monotonous but it’s honest work for a Crow. The job gets lively when your assigned soul is stolen and you must track down a desperate thief to a realm untouched by death – where creatures grow far past their expiry.

Paralives

Phantom Abyss
